About this role

The team is seeking an experienced SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with 5+ years of expertise in software quality engineering, test automation, and application testing. The ideal candidate will possess strong programming skills and hands-on experience in developing automation frameworks, particularly in testing SAP-based applications and integrations.

In this role, the SDET will be responsible for designing and implementing automated testing solutions, validating application functionality and integrations, identifying defects, and ensuring high-quality releases across enterprise applications and SAP environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, API, and end-to-end testing.
  • Develop automated tests using Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Test web applications, APIs, backend services, and enterprise applications.
  • Conduct SAP application testing, including validation of SAP processes, interfaces, integrations, and data flows.
  • Collaborate with SAP teams to understand business processes and validate integrations between SAP and non-SAP applications.
  • Validate SAP data and interfaces using SQL and database queries.
  • Develop and execute automated API tests using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or equivalent.
  • Build and maintain UI automation using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
  • Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and work closely with development teams to resolve defects.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving application testability.
  • Create and maintain test plans, test cases, automation scripts, and testing documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and overall quality processes.
  • Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, SAP Consultants, Product Owners, and DevOps teams.
  • Support release validation and production readiness activities.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Strong programming experience in at least one language: Java, Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Test Automation: Selenium / Playwright / Cypress, automation framework development, regression and end-to-end automation, API automation.
  • API & Integration Testing: REST/SOAP APIs, Postman, RestAssured or equivalent, JSON/XML.
  • Strong SQL skills for data validation and backend testing, with experience in relational databases.
  • CI/CD & DevOps: Jenkins / Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions / GitLab CI, Git, automated test execution within CI/CD pipelines.
  • SAP: Experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA, SAP application and integration testing, and understanding of SAP business processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in SDET, QA Automation, Software Quality Engineering, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC, with experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is a plus.
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter is desirable.
  • Experience with SAP testing automation is highly preferred.
