About this role
The team is seeking a skilled MongoDB Administrator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing MongoDB databases, focusing on backups, disaster recovery, and production support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MongoDB DBA operational routines and ensure high availability of the database.
- Setup and configure MongoDB cluster infrastructure in a cloud environment, preferably AWS.
- Configure and monitor replica sets to ensure data redundancy and reliability.
- Optimize database and query performance for improved efficiency.
- Configure sharding and identify the proper shard key for effective data distribution.
- Manage the selection and insertion of large amounts of data into the database.
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance.
- Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery drills to safeguard data integrity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience with MongoDB administration and operational tasks.
- Proficiency in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
- Knowledge of MMS configuration and monitoring tools.
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization of databases.
- Familiarity with security best practices for database management.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in MongoDB administration or related roles.
