About this role
The team is seeking an Associate Architect/Technical Architect specializing in Data to lead the migration and modernization of customer platforms and database services from Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role requires a strong technical leader who can provide guidance and mentorship to the data engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the migration of database services to AWS, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Design a robust AWS architecture utilizing services such as Amazon RDS, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Aurora, Amazon Athena, and Amazon DynamoDB.
- Implement effective migration strategies and modernization processes, ensuring compatibility and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience with AWS services and architecture design.
- Strong understanding of database management systems and data migration techniques.
- Experience with GCP and familiarity with its services is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical concepts.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in data architecture, cloud services, or related fields.
