Technical Lead & Software Architect (part time)

Our client is seeking an experienced software engineer to join as a part-time Technical Lead and Software Architect. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the architecture, planning, management, and oversight of the development of web applications using modern visual development platforms. You will act as a systems architect, technical advisor, and planner, collaborating closely with the founder, product manager, product designer, and developers to transform business requirements into scalable and secure enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and design technical solutions, focusing on system architecture, database design, and high-level technical planning.
• Collaborate with and manage the development team across multiple client projects, supervising and coordinating the work of developers.
• Mentor and support developer growth while managing workloads according to quarterly goals, conducting code reviews and offering guidance.
• Plan and oversee development execution, including sprint planning and backlog grooming, utilizing agile methodologies.
• Enhance the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and development management systems by refining processes and implementing best practices.
• Influence technical strategy and innovation by making strategic decisions on system integrations and staying updated on emerging technologies.
• Ensure quality, performance, and reliability of applications with a proactive approach to monitoring and addressing issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in software architecture and technical leadership, preferably in a part-time capacity.
• Strong background in web application development and familiarity with visual development platforms.
• Excellent understanding of system architecture, database design, and agile methodologies.
• Experience in mentoring and managing teams, with a focus on professional growth and collaborative problem-solving.
• Ability to influence technical strategy and drive innovation within a small team environment.

Experience: 5-8 years in software engineering and architecture roles.
