About this role

The team is seeking a Staff Software Engineer specializing in AI Native Builder within the Legal & Privacy Technology team. This role is pivotal in designing and developing scalable legal and privacy solutions that empower users while ensuring compliance and protecting their rights. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business partners, developers, and product managers, in an Agile Scrum environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in fullstack engineering, discussing application and API architectures with developers and designers.
  • Manage one or more Scrum teams while leveraging Agile methodologies.
  • Take ownership of building and supporting large-scale developer-facing platforms.
  • Collaborate with Senior Staff/Principal engineers to foster strong working relationships.
  • Innovate using methods like Design for Delight to create impactful solutions.
  • Design and develop web-based applications and backend services.
  • Gather functional requirements and develop technical specifications, project plans, and test strategies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and new team members, applying technical expertise to complex programming and design challenges.
  • Resolve defects and bugs across various stages of the development lifecycle.
  • Work cross-functionally with product management and design teams to drive results.
  • Lead the design and architecture at the capability level.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of experience in developing web applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong leadership skills, including leading meetings and presenting to cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in software design and architecture processes.
  • Proficiency in technologies such as RESTful or GraphQL web services, Java, Spring Boot, Dynamo DB, React JS, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, and Camunda.
  • Familiarity with AWS services including S3, SQS, KMS, Lambda, RDS, and App Stream.
  • Experience with unit testing and Test Driven Development (TDD).
  • Knowledge of Domain Driven Design and hexagonal architecture.
  • Experience with Agile Development methodologies like SCRUM or Extreme Programming.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical issues to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker is a plus.
  • A self-starter attitude with a willingness to explore and solve challenges.
  • Experience in building privacy solutions is advantageous.
