About this role
The team is seeking a Staff Back-End Engineer to lead the technical direction of their personalization service. This role will focus on building and optimizing systems that enhance user experience through real-time personalization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set the technical direction for the personalization service using NestJS/TypeScript, MongoDB, and Apollo GraphQL federation.
- Design and review systems that power the internal targeting and configuration layer built on Statsig for personalized slot delivery.
- Own critical technical decisions regarding trait ingestion and activation logic that support real-time personalization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of the personalization features.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience with NestJS, TypeScript, MongoDB, and Apollo GraphQL.
- Proven track record in building scalable back-end systems.
- Experience with real-time data processing and personalization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions.
- Strong communication skills and experience working in a collaborative team environment.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of relevant back-end engineering experience, with a focus on personalization and real-time systems.
