About this role
The team is seeking an experienced Senior z/OS Systems Administrator to support and maintain a large-scale IBM mainframe environment. The ideal candidate will be a senior-level z/OS professional with deep hands-on expertise in SMP/E, REXX scripting, and z/OSMF, along with strong knowledge of z/OS systems administration, maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain the z/OS mainframe environment, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Perform system upgrades, installations, and configurations as required.
- Troubleshoot complex mainframe system issues and implement effective solutions.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using REXX to streamline processes.
- Utilize SMP/E for software management and maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integrity and security.
- Document procedures, configurations, and system changes for future reference.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with z/OS systems administration and support.
- Proficiency in SMP/E, REXX scripting, and z/OSMF.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in z/OS systems administration.
