About this role
The team is seeking a Senior Staff Backend Engineer to take ownership of the core services that form the backbone of their platform. This role focuses on developing and maintaining the data-intensive computation layer that transforms curated financial and operational data into accurate, reproducible, and fully traceable results. As a key player in the engineering team, you will ensure the integrity and performance of the services that underpin the platform's outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services that handle complex data computations.
- Ensure the correctness and reliability of the results produced by the computation layer.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement data processing requirements.
- Optimize existing services for performance and scalability.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of excellence.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in backend engineering with a strong focus on data processing.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Experience with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience:
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in backend development, preferably in data-intensive environments.
