The team is seeking a Software Lead Engineer specializing in Space Simulation within the Space Domain. This role involves building a high-fidelity software platform designed for space applications. The system encompasses a high-performance physics simulation engine, a scientific data pipeline, a REST and event-streaming backend, and a native desktop client featuring 3D rendering capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the final technical authority, ensuring high standards across all project layers.
- Write and optimize simulation code to enhance performance and accuracy.
- Design and implement data interfaces for seamless integration within the platform.
- Make informed decisions regarding high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience in software engineering with a focus on simulation technologies.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or similar.
- Familiarity with high-performance computing and data processing pipelines.
- Experience with RESTful services and event-streaming architectures.
- Knowledge of 3D rendering techniques and frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5-8 years in software development, preferably in simulation or related fields.
