The team is seeking a Software Engineering Manager specializing in Desktop and Embedded Linux Optimization. In this role, you will lead a team of distributed engineers to design and implement the best Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks. You will engage with commercial partners to deliver a delightful, optimized first-class Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Oversee the design and implementation of Ubuntu integrations for various hardware platforms.
- Engage with commercial partners to ensure alignment and satisfaction with deliverables.
- Manage project timelines and milestones, ensuring timely delivery of agreed objectives.
- Maintain a commitment to high-quality standards and continuous improvement in processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in software engineering management, particularly with Linux systems.
- Strong background in embedded systems and desktop environments.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor team members.
- Experience with project management and delivering complex software solutions.
- Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience: 5-8 years in software engineering and team management.
