About this role
The team is seeking a Software Engineer - Contract to support, maintain, and enhance their internal applications and automation platforms. This role will involve close collaboration with engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure the reliability and development of Bliss, their internal infrastructure provisioning and automation platform, along with other business-critical applications and integrations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support, maintain, and enhance Bliss, the internal infrastructure provisioning and automation platform.
- Implement minor enhancements, bug fixes, and new features for existing internal applications.
- Maintain and support backend services, integrations, and automation workflows.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established development standards.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure continuity of ongoing software development.
Integrations & Automation:
- Support and maintain REST APIs and integrations between internal and third-party platforms.
- Assist in developing automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and implement enhancements as business needs evolve.
Reliability:
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues while maintaining application stability.
- Identify and address issues related to application logic, performance, and integrations.
- Implement logging, error handling, and monitoring improvements where appropriate.
- Participate in root cause analysis and contribute fixes to improve application reliability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go.
- Experience working with REST APIs and web services.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and container technologies is a plus.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of software development experience.
- Experience supporting and enhancing existing web applications or internal software platforms.
- Experience developing or maintaining integrations or automation solutions.
- Ability to understand and work with an existing codebase with minimal downtime.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience collaborating with infrastructure, engineering, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
