Senior Python Engineer (temporary contract)

The team is seeking a Senior Python Engineer for a temporary contract role. In this position, you will take ownership of backend services that power an operational dashboard product. You will collaborate closely with application teams to enhance API design and integrate SSO/RBAC functionalities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain backend services and REST APIs for application modules and resource-status capabilities.
• Build and maintain CSV and PDF data export functionalities.
• Integrate backend services with existing authentication and authorization models (SSO/RBAC).
• Ensure reliable data integration across relational databases and data warehouse platforms.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to support application reliability.
• Participate in defect resolution, hardening, and acceptance phases.
• Collaborate with application and technical leads to ensure adherence to API design standards and platform architecture.
• Contribute to technical documentation and follow established development workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of backend development experience using Python.
• Strong hands-on experience building and deploying backend services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Expertise in designing and implementing REST APIs.
• Familiarity with relational databases and data warehouse technologies, including BigQuery and SQL.
• Experience with automated testing, including unit and integration testing.
• Proficiency in integrating backend services with SSO and RBAC.
• Experience in engineering environments with documented designs and workflows.
• Proficiency with Git and software development practices.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
• Excellent English communication skills for effective collaboration with U.S.-based teams.

This role requires at least 4 hours of daily overlap with U.S. Eastern business hours.
