About this role
The team is building HypeMuse, an event-based photo and GIF discovery platform for sports games, concerts, and live events. They are seeking a Senior Node.js Backend Engineer to assist in migrating their existing Laravel/PHP backend to a scalable Node.js architecture. This role is crucial in ensuring the stability of current product logic while enhancing the backend system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze the existing Laravel backend structure, database schema, and APIs.
- Design and implement a scalable Node.js architecture.
- Migrate existing functionalities from Laravel to Node.js while ensuring stability and performance.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Troubleshoot and optimize the backend for performance and reliability.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience with Node.js and its frameworks.
- Proficiency in Laravel/PHP and understanding of its architecture.
- Experience with database management and schema design (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend development, with a focus on Node.js.
