Senior Java Backend Architect - Vice President

The team is seeking a Senior Java Backend Architect - Vice President to lead and manage Applications Development teams in the Financial Services industry. This senior developer position is responsible for driving application systems analysis and programming activities while ensuring the successful delivery of complex, multi-system projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage one or more Applications Development teams to achieve established goals, including performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
• Provide technical oversight across systems and applications utilizing in-depth knowledge and skills.
• Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for various projects.
• Contribute to the formulation of strategies for applications development and related functional areas.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of business integration to meet organizational goals.
• Monitor delivery of end results, participate in budget management, and handle day-to-day staff management issues.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations while maintaining the firm's reputation.
• Assess risks in business decisions and create accountability within the team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10-15 years of relevant experience in the Financial Services industry.
• Proven experience in designing and delivering complex, distributed, highly available development projects.
• Strong solution design and architecture experience using technologies such as Microservices and Java.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, MicroServices, Database, JDBC, JMS, Distributed Systems, and Kafka.
• Familiarity with ALM and CI/CD tools like GitHub, TFS, Jenkins, and OpenShift in an agile environment.
• Leadership experience in project solution architecture design at various levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in both waterfall and Agile methodologies is preferred.
• Knowledge of WebSocket technology and Elasticsearch is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and CI/CD pipelines is advantageous.
