Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain production database environments to ensure high availability and performance.
- Implement and monitor database backup and recovery strategies.
- Optimize database performance through tuning and indexing strategies.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet business needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure database security and compliance with governance policies.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior database staff.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on production environments.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with cloud database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
- Proficient in writing complex SQL queries and scripts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Experience: 5-9 years in production database administration or engineering.
