About this role
The team is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their dynamic team in Mumbai, specializing in the fintech sector. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of credit scorecards and decision analytics utilizing various data sources including bureau, platform, behavioral, and portfolio data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the entire lifecycle of credit scorecard development, from population and target definition to deployment and monitoring.
- Collaborate with teams across Credit, Risk, Underwriting, and Technology to translate model outputs into actionable insights such as grades, approval treatments, limits, pricing, tenure, and reason codes.
- Implement applied AI techniques to enhance document analysis, evidence gathering, and analytical support, ensuring they complement rather than replace financial decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in data science, particularly in the financial services or fintech industry.
- Strong proficiency in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data modeling techniques.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data manipulation and visualization tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in data science or analytics, with a focus on credit risk or decision analytics.
