About this role
The team is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of their serverless backend. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who is technically excellent and comfortable being one of the key figures that the entire backend depends on. You will own the services across several Node.js and Python repositories, working directly with the founders and product team to set the technical bar for reliability, security, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and operate AWS Lambda services.
- Develop and maintain robust and scalable backend systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs in the backend architecture.
- Implement security and data protection measures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Node.js and Python.
- Experience with AWS services, particularly AWS Lambda.
- Strong understanding of serverless architecture and microservices.
- Familiarity with database systems such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in backend development, with a focus on serverless technologies.
