About this role
The team is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Node.js and TypeScript to design and own production-grade backend systems that integrate AI models, APIs, and data pipelines for their banking and fintech clients across the UAE. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will be building services that ship into real products with established SLAs, rather than merely prototyping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Integrate large language models (LLMs) and AI services into production environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficient in Node.js and TypeScript with a strong understanding of their ecosystems.
- Experience with AI model integration and data pipeline development.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of professional experience in backend development, with a focus on Node.js and TypeScript.
