About this role
The team is seeking a Senior Backend Developer, or an ambitious medior developer ready to grow into a senior position, for a Dutch SaaS company in the financial services sector. This company develops a platform used daily by thousands of professionals to collaborate, automate routine processes, and manage their work in real time. At this scale, stability, performance, and maintainable architecture are essential.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing robust backend solutions using PHP.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Ensuring the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Maintaining and improving existing codebases while adhering to best practices.
- Troubleshooting and debugging applications to optimize performance.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong experience in PHP and related frameworks.
- Familiarity with database management systems such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Understanding of version control systems, preferably Git.
- Experience with cloud services and deployment strategies.
Experience required: 5-8 years in backend development, with a focus on PHP.
