About this role
The team is seeking a skilled SAP ASE Database Administrator to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the performance of Sybase ASE databases, ensuring high availability and reliability of database systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously review capacity and predictive reports to efficiently allocate system resources and plan for future capacity needs.
- Install, upgrade, and patch multiple versions of Sybase ASE to maintain system integrity and performance.
- Manage incident responses, documenting and developing solutions to mitigate issues.
- Implement backup and recovery strategies, including analysis, options, and verification through scripting and automation.
- Tune SQL queries to ensure minimal resource consumption and optimal data access and response times.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support database-related projects and initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience with Sybase ASE database administration.
- Proficient in SQL tuning and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies and implementation.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in database administration, specifically with SAP ASE.
