About this role
The team is seeking a skilled RPG Developer for a remote contract position within a leading national distribution organization. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the I.T. Department by developing, maintaining, and supporting applications using various versions of RPG.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide full-cycle RPG development, including planning, programming, testing, and implementation for financial applications.
- Implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications.
- Identify problems or potential issues with systems and/or clients.
- Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical personnel.
- Analyze, write, and maintain computer applications on iSeries and RPG.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Advanced expertise in RPG programming.
- Experience with RPG-In functions and Service Programs.
- Background in the consumer product distribution industry, particularly in a SKU-intensive environment.
- Practical experience with SQL RPG.
- Ability to modify and enhance existing programs following established logic.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred but not required.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in RPG development and related fields.
