About this role
The team is seeking a skilled RPG Developer for a remote contract position within a leading distribution organization. This role will involve supporting the I.T. Department with applications development, maintenance, and support using various versions of RPG.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide full-cycle RPG development, including planning, programming, testing, and implementation for financial applications.
- Implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications.
- Identify problems or potential issues with systems and/or clients.
- Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical personnel.
- Analyze, write, and maintain computer applications in iSeries and RPG.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Advanced RPG programming expertise.
- Experience with RPG using built-in functions and Service Programs.
- Must have experience in the consumer product distribution industry, particularly in a SKU-intensive environment.
- Practical experience with SQL RPG.
- Ability to modify and enhance existing programs while following established logic.
- Manufacturing industry experience is preferred but not required.
Experience: 5-8 years of relevant experience in RPG development is required.
