About this role
The team is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the development of innovative software solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for driving change within the organization and championing non-functional requirements (NFR) to ensure optimal software performance. You will leverage your expertise in both SQL and NoSQL data stores while writing code for distributed systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive organizational change through effective collaboration and influence, without relying on formal authority.
- Champion non-functional requirements to proactively identify and address performance issues before they impact customers.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base to enhance team training and scalability.
- Make informed decisions regarding managed versus bare metal hosting in cloud environments, primarily utilizing AWS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust software solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in software engineering, with a focus on distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Expertise in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with a track record of building knowledge resources.
- Ability to influence and drive change within teams and organizations.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years in software engineering or related fields.
