The team is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join their Emergency Preparedness & Response (EP&R) team. This role is crucial in building systems that ensure critical operations remain functional during emergencies. The ideal candidate will help innovate solutions that empower utilities and cities to effectively manage energy and water resources, especially in times of crisis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop robust software systems that support emergency response operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Lead architectural discussions and guide the technical direction of projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the team.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices in software development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
  • Extensive experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS or Azure.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of software engineering experience, with a focus on developing scalable and resilient systems.
