About this role
The team is seeking an Observability Engineer to design, build, and scale their observability platform while driving improvements through their Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) program. This hands-on role is crucial in contributing directly to the systems that monitor the health and performance of applications. The ideal candidate will help engineers understand system behavior, troubleshoot issues quickly, and continuously improve service reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement observability solutions for monitoring application performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability and performance.
- Analyze system behavior and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain metrics, logs, and traces for effective monitoring.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner to ensure optimal service uptime.
- Contribute to the evolution of the SRE program by implementing best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience with observability tools and frameworks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to system reliability.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with engineering teams.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years in a related role, focusing on observability and reliability engineering.
