About this role
The team is seeking a skilled Network Specialist with a strong focus on Ubuntu and MySQL to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of Ubuntu/Linux servers in both physical and virtual environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Ubuntu/Linux servers.
- Perform regular system updates, security patching, and kernel upgrades.
- Monitor server health, performance, capacity, and availability, proactively resolving issues.
- Manage storage, filesystems, LVM, and related system resources.
- Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery mechanisms.
- Apply server hardening practices to protect system integrity and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network infrastructure and database management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience with Ubuntu/Linux server administration.
- Proficiency in MySQL database management and optimization.
- Familiarity with network protocols and security practices.
- Experience with virtualization technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in network and server administration.
