About this role
The team is seeking a .NET Application Developer to join their team on a contract basis. This remote position requires a candidate who can participate in 2-3 yearly onsite meetings. The project involves modernizing a large state pension system that serves over 210,000 employees and retirees across numerous educational institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain applications using C# .NET and Angular 16+.
- Create and manage Web APIs and SQL databases.
- Collaborate with team members in Azure DevOps and utilize GIT for version control.
- Participate in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) following Agile methodologies.
- Analyze business processes and contribute to functional design documentation.
- Develop clear user stories and maintain a prioritized backlog.
- Conduct unit testing, code reviews, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Work on enhancing application components to meet both functional and technical requirements.
- Communicate effectively with technical staff, analysts, and project managers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
- 3+ years of experience in application development with a strong focus on C# .NET and Angular.
- Proficient in Web API development, SQL, and Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with modern application development frameworks and secure coding practices.
- Understanding of SDLC methodologies, particularly Agile.
- Experience with business process analysis and functional design principles.
- Knowledge of legacy systems and their integration points.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
