About this role
The team is seeking a MySQL Database Consultant to join their team. In this role, you will work closely with customer teams to understand their needs in both project-based and long-term support capacities. You will be responsible for creating and documenting database standards, optimizing queries, indexes, and data structures. Additionally, you will monitor and support database environments, serving as an escalation point for complex troubleshooting and interactive production support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customer teams to gather and analyze database requirements.
- Develop and document database standards and best practices.
- Create optimized queries, indexes, and data structures for performance enhancement.
- Monitor database environments for performance and reliability.
- Provide complex troubleshooting support and interact with production systems.
- Utilize database vendor tools and proprietary accelerators for performance tuning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficient in MySQL database management and optimization.
- Strong understanding of database design principles and data modeling.
- Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
- Familiarity with database monitoring tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of Python for database-related scripting and automation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of experience in database consulting or a related field.
