About this role
The team is seeking a skilled Mainframe DB2 DBA Professional to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing DB2 databases to ensure high performance and reliability. You will collaborate with management, team members, and clients to enhance database services and participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage DB2 database objects using various utilities.
- Proactively review and improve database structure, usability, and performance.
- Attend regular meetings to discuss improvements and updates with management and clients.
- Provide expert guidance on database administration best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent technical certification.
- 5-8 years of experience in DB2 database administration.
- Strong knowledge of DB2 database utilities and maintenance tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
