About this role
The team is seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux operating systems, specifically CentOS, Redhat, and Ubuntu, and will be responsible for the secure configuration and maintenance of servers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Securely configure servers, focusing on server hardening techniques for NFS, Samba, and Apache.
- Write and implement system-level firewall rules to enhance security.
- Manage and configure SELinux for improved system security.
- Develop and maintain bash shell scripts for automation and text processing tasks.
- Oversee deployment and maintenance of web applications, particularly using Apache2 and Tomcat.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure optimal performance and security of systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in Linux system administration.
- Proficient in Linux operating systems, including CentOS, Redhat, and Ubuntu.
- Experience with server hardening and security best practices.
- Knowledge of firewall configurations and SELinux management.
- Strong skills in bash shell scripting and text processing commands.
- Familiarity with web application servers such as Apache2 and Tomcat.
- Preferable certifications in Linux and virtualization technologies, such as VMware.
