About this role

The team is seeking a skilled Linux Patching Engineer to join their Managed Services team in a full-time remote capacity. This role is essential for maintaining the security and performance of Linux systems through effective patch management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement patch management strategies for Linux environments.
  • Monitor and assess system vulnerabilities and apply necessary patches in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment of patches.
  • Document patching processes and maintain accurate records of applied updates.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues arising from patch deployments.
  • Stay updated on the latest security threats and patching techniques.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in Linux system administration and patch management.
