The team is seeking a skilled Linux Patching Engineer to join their Managed Services team in a full-time remote capacity. This role is essential for maintaining the security and performance of Linux systems through effective patch management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement patch management strategies for Linux environments.
- Monitor and assess system vulnerabilities and apply necessary patches in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment of patches.
- Document patching processes and maintain accurate records of applied updates.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues arising from patch deployments.
- Stay updated on the latest security threats and patching techniques.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience with Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in Linux system administration and patch management.
