About this role

The team is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for the development, integration, verification, and evolution of two computer-assisted Total Knee Replacement (TKR) navigation platforms. This role will be part of a shared multidisciplinary engineering team located in Vapi, Gujarat.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and integration of software for medical devices, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Guide a team of 5+ engineers in delivering production-grade medical-device software and surgical navigation systems.
  • Oversee software architecture and system-level technical leadership for the projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Software, Hardware, Computer Vision, Biomechanics, Clinical, Quality, and Regulatory.
  • Manage multiple product workstreams and ensure timely delivery while maintaining high engineering quality.
  • Translate complex clinical and engineering requirements into practical software architecture.
  • Drive projects from architecture through verification and release, ensuring long-term maintainability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7-9+ years of professional software development experience, particularly in regulated real-time systems.
  • Strong experience in Android architecture and application development, including Android Studio, multi-module architecture, Camera2, and JNI/native integration.
  • Experience with PC/workstation application development using C#, C++, Qt, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Practical understanding of optical tracking, pose estimation, registration, and computer-vision pipelines.
  • Familiarity with software verification and validation processes, including knowledge of IEC 62304 and ISO 14971.
  • Strong programming, debugging, and analytical skills, with a focus on system-level performance and integration.
