About this role
The team is seeking a Lead FPGA Firmware Engineer to define requirements and enhance product features for an electronic design focused on world-class Control & Protection systems in VSC and LCC systems. This role involves collaboration with engineers across global locations and is critical for the design and development of business-critical projects to meet product requirements and timelines for future commercial HVDC projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze system requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Design, develop, and test FPGA firmware solutions to meet project goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of firmware with hardware.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers in FPGA design and development processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot and resolve firmware issues in a timely manner.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in FPGA design and development using VHDL or Verilog.
- Strong understanding of digital signal processing and control systems.
- Proficiency in simulation and debugging tools such as ModelSim or Vivado.
- Experience with hardware description languages and embedded systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in FPGA firmware engineering.
