About this role
The team is seeking a Lead Data Engineer with a strong foundation in data engineering principles and a passion for exploring new technologies, particularly within the Databricks platform. This role is part of the Data & AI Centre of Excellence, focusing on building innovative use cases, running proof of concepts (POCs), and developing solutions that enhance our Databricks partnership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data solutions on the Databricks platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data use cases.
- Lead exploratory data projects and POCs to validate new ideas and technologies.
- Mentor and guide junior data engineers in best practices and methodologies.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data engineering and AI.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Databricks and a strong understanding of data engineering concepts.
- Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Scala.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS or Azure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a curious mindset.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in data engineering or a related field.
