The team is seeking a Java Backend Engineering Manager to lead their backend engineering team as they build an AI-powered platform for talent acquisition. This role is crucial as the complexity of their backend systems grows, involving microservices, event-driven architectures, critical data migrations, and numerous third-party integrations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable backend systems using Java.
- Manage complex data pipelines and ensure efficient integration with applicant tracking systems.
- Drive the architecture of microservices and event-driven systems to enhance performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement technical solutions that meet business needs.
- Ensure best practices in coding, testing, and deployment are followed by the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in backend development with a strong focus on Java.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
- Experience with data migration strategies and handling complex data pipelines.
- Familiarity with third-party integrations and API development.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide engineers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in backend engineering, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
