About this role
The team is one of India's largest consumer internet platforms, processing millions of transactions every day. They are seeking a Java Backend Engineer, SDE II to join their backend team, which is responsible for core, high-traffic services. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain Java microservices that are fast and reliable under heavy concurrent load.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and own backend microservices in Java and Spring Boot, from design documentation to production.
- Ensure high throughput and low latency, with a clear focus on achieving p99 latency and availability targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement service requirements.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing services for performance and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in software development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficient in Java and Spring Boot with a strong understanding of microservices architecture.
- Experience with building scalable and high-performance backend systems.
- Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL.
- Understanding of cloud services and deployment strategies, preferably with AWS.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in backend development, specifically with Java and microservices.
