About this role
The team is seeking a highly skilled and seasoned IBM IMS Expert to join their core infrastructure team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the engineering, configuration, performance tuning, and 24/7 reliability of enterprise IMS environments, encompassing both IMS DB and IMS TM. You will collaborate closely with application development teams, database administrators, and security officers to ensure seamless, high-performance transaction processing and hierarchical database management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineer and configure IMS environments to meet business requirements.
- Perform performance tuning and optimization of IMS DB and IMS TM.
- Ensure 24/7 reliability and availability of IMS systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance transaction processing capabilities.
- Implement best practices for database management and security compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within IMS environments promptly.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with IBM IMS, specifically IMS DB and IMS TM.
- Strong knowledge of mainframe systems and architecture.
- Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with transaction processing and hierarchical database management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years in IBM IMS or related mainframe systems.
