About this role
The team is seeking a skilled Field Network Engineer to design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting FTTH (Fiber to the Home) and enterprise fiber networks, ensuring optimal network performance, service reliability, and timely resolution of fiber-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic network infrastructure.
- Perform fiber cable laying, splicing, termination, and testing activities.
- Conduct OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) testing to assess fiber quality and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless network integration and upgrades.
- Monitor network performance and implement improvements as needed.
- Provide technical support and training to field technicians and other staff.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in fiber optic network installation and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of fiber optic technologies and standards.
- Proficiency in OTDR and other testing equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications in fiber optics or telecommunications are a plus.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in fiber optic network engineering or related field.
