About this role
The team is seeking a Vice President of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to lead their Engineering Division. This role combines software and systems engineering to build and maintain scalable, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. The SRE team plays a critical role in improving the availability and reliability of the firm's most essential platform services, ensuring they meet the needs of both internal and external users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of SREs in the design and implementation of robust systems.
- Develop and enforce firmwide policies and standards for site reliability and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Drive initiatives to automate processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Analyze system performance metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in software engineering and systems engineering.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of cloud technologies and platforms, such as AWS or Azure.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Experience:
- A minimum of 10-15 years in software engineering or site reliability engineering roles, with significant leadership experience.
