The team is seeking a Backend Lead Engineer with a strong background in Python and Django to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving the development of innovative checkout technology that enhances in-store purchasing experiences. The ideal candidate will lead a team of engineers and collaborate closely with other departments to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the backend development team, ensuring best practices in coding and design are followed.
- Design and implement scalable and robust backend systems using Python and Django.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal performance.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in backend development using Python and Django.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Experience with database management systems such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend engineering.
