About this role
The team is looking for an experienced Backend Developer to join their development team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development skills and hands-on experience working with Contentful and content-driven websites. You will be responsible for developing scalable backend solutions, integrating APIs, and supporting high-performance web applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop robust backend systems to support web applications.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance application functionality.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration of user-facing elements.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain and improve existing codebases and documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python, or Java.
- Experience with Contentful or similar content management systems.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development.
- Familiarity with database technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience:
- 5-6 years of relevant experience in backend development.
