About this role
The team is seeking an experienced Application Developer for a remote, 12-month contract position. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the development and support of the Connecticut Information Sharing System (CISS) Application Program, collaborating closely with various stakeholders and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the application design and development using FileMaker.
- Ensure compliance with architecture standards and software development methodologies.
- Document design structures in accordance with formal Software Development Methodologies (SDM).
- Participate in peer reviews and conduct unit testing of developed software.
- Assist in the development and execution of integration and user acceptance test plans.
- Manage application version control, software libraries, and documentation.
- Identify and report defects using the defect management tool.
- Provide technical consultation and programming support to vendor technology teams.
- Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of programming experience in at least three programming languages.
- Proficient in FileMaker and MySQL.
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Mac, and Ubuntu.
- Knowledge of web technologies including JavaScript, PHP, CSS3, HTML5, and jQuery.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns and SDM compliance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to foster cooperation among stakeholders.
Experience: 5-8 years.
