About this role
The team is seeking an experienced Application Developer for a 12-month remote contract position. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the design and development of the Connecticut Information Sharing System (CISS) Application Program in collaboration with various vendors. This position requires extensive knowledge of formal Software Development Methodologies (SDM) and a strong background in software development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the application design and development in compliance with architecture standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues using detailed knowledge of vendor software and systems.
- Document design structures in accordance with SDM.
- Design applications following CJIS-CT Architecture Standards.
- Map application design components to a Requirements Traceability Matrix.
- Conduct peer reviews of developed software and execute Unit Test plans.
- Assist in the development and execution of Integration and User Acceptance test plans.
- Create and maintain the Release Management plan and Restoral/Recovery Plan.
- Manage application version control, software libraries, and documentation.
- Identify defects and report them into the defect management tool.
- Coordinate software defect remediation efforts.
- Design, execute, and maintain test cases and scenarios.
- Create Request for Service (RFS) tickets for development and support issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant criminal justice industry standards and participate in design reviews.
- Provide technical consultation and programming assistance to vendor technology teams.
- Contribute to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology.
- Minimum of 5 years programming experience in at least three programming languages.
- Proficient in FileMaker and MySQL.
- Familiarity with operating systems: Windows, Mac, Ubuntu.
- Knowledge of languages: JavaScript, PHP, CSS3, CSS, HTML5, and jQuery.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of relevant software development experience, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and coordination among stakeholders.
