About this role
The team is seeking a skilled Kafka Admin with extensive experience in managing and configuring Kafka clusters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both Apache Kafka KRaft and ZooKeeper-backed deployments, as well as proficiency with Confluent Platform components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provision, configure, and manage Kafka clusters to ensure optimal performance.
- Work with Confluent Platform components including Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, ksqlDB, REST Proxy, and Control Center.
- Ensure high availability and resilience across multi-AZ/region deployments.
- Manage partition replication, minimum in-sync replicas (ISR), and implement rack awareness.
- Implement and maintain client quotas, broker quotas, and throttling mechanisms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kafka performance and reliability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience with Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform.
- In-depth knowledge of Kafka cluster management and configuration.
- Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
- Experience with performance tuning and monitoring of Kafka environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in Kafka administration and management.
